Update on Amazon.com customer support phone number

So I tried to order something from Amazon.com just now - and sure enough the cart was acting strangely. (It wouldn't let me move something from "outside" the cart to "inside" the cart and it gave no explanation as to why.)

So I fired up the customer support phone number.

And I'm pleased to report that my experience was both quick and pleasant.

Way to go Amazon - now just make that number easier to find and we'll all be happy.

I was half worried I'd get some box stacker answering the phone ringing in the corner of the warehouse - but I got a full fledged, intelligent, helpful customer support representative.

Moral of the story? If you are an Amazon.com customer - 1-800-201-7575 is your friend.

I am curious as to where you actually found the number. Was it even on their site somewhere? I am currently going through e-mail support hell right now.

Thanks for posting that number. I tried for more than 30 min to locate the number on their web site. It is height of cost cutting that they don't put the customer suppost number on their web site. By the way, how did you find the number?
