How to build credibility : PART 1

As I'm able, I'm going to provide some random, quick tips on how to follow the 10 recommendations by Stanford about how to build the credibility of your website.
1. Make it easy to verify the accuracy of the information on your site. They recommend putting citations, references, etc for information you present. That's ok I suppose if your site resembles a research paper, but most business sites do not.
Here's a better idea. Add testimonials to your site. Add a new one at least once a week. On your front page. Include a picture, and a full name, location and title. Make it easy for a prospect to talk to the person that gave the testimonial if they are seriously considering doing business with you.
What you really want to do is make it easy for visitors to verify the accuracy of the claims on your site. If you claim to have the best widget support in the world, (and you'd better if you make that claim) then put some comments from customers who are super satisfied with your widget support.
The added upside to that is the excitement it brings your customer to see their name and picture on your site. They'll tell friends to check it out. Buzzzzzzz!
