Adobe to acquire Macromedia

Holy Fuzzweasels. Am I the only one that sees this as a bad thing?
Link: About Adobe - Adobe to acquire Macromedia.
Update: So here's why I think it's a bad thing.
Both (esp. Adobe) have inflated prices as it is. Remove the only other competitor and color me concerned. Something tells me that the benefit of merging PDFs and Flash isn't quite exciting enough to offset the sluggishness this is going to induce in that arena. And are there any other software companies that can even catch up to play competitor at this point? I mean, who's left, Corel?
As chief fuzzweasel (and friend of mine) Dean says: "Creepy."
And Chuck raises the specter of Microsoft. Will we see graphics and web tools go the way of IE 6?

I'm fine as long as Fireworks is still made available as a viable product.
But really, shouldn't we be a tad concerned? No competition is not a good thing is it? See: Microsoft.
I did notice that Adobe's stock went down from prior close. It will be interesting watching how that plays out.

Does this mean that all adobe products will now get much harder to use?

So how long until the MX Suite drops in price and I can afford to update my now expired trial version?

Not sure how many people are going to jump all over the newly released Adobe CS2 suite after announcing the purchase of Macromedia. Is it worth investing in a suite of products (including training for some corporations) only for some of the apps to be dropped down the road? Say I get CS2 only to have GoLive be replaced by Dreamweaver... This can't be good for sales.
I will say though that I'll be happy if I can at some point upgrade my Studio MX to whatever Adobe/Macromedia Suite is the result of the purchase. Buying one suite was bad enough (MX Studio), but buying two (Creative Suite) is just too expensive. I need Photoshop to be able to work in rectangular pixels for DVD design. This is not possible in Fireworks (that I know of). :(

Holy animation! I had not noticed this one. I guess it was always on the cards. It's a bad thing. Inflated prices being the big problem.
I'd always hoped Macromedia would be bought by someone who could write a decent user manual. No luck there then.
