Repeat after me...

Movie stars have not:
- Cured cancer
- Eradicated Aids
- Brought peace to the Middle East
- Disarmed North Korea
- Solved the global sex slavery problem
- Restored balance to the ocean's ecosystem after over-fishing
- Preserved manufacturing jobs in the US
- Cured world hunger
- Brought an end to the one-child policy in China
- Ended genocide in the Congo
Movie stars have done a great job of pretending to be someone else, coupled with other artistic elements like stirring music and sweeping visuals. Yes that provides some entertainment value, and can even be emotionally moving at times. But I feel the balance of the universe tipping a bit off it's axis this week, so I'm trying to keep things in perspective. It's also hard to stomach the fools with a microphone panting at movie stars, stroking and them telling them their work is "important." Please.

I dunno dude, a thought I saw a headline that a bunch of 'stars' were going to show up TO THE OSCARS in environmentally friendly cars (i.e. hybrids). That has to count for something. Right?

Well you know, what bothers me the most is that they give everyone the thousands of dollar gifts for just showing up! Drives me crazy. There is one star I wish they would give all that money to, the Dana & Christopher Reeve foundation! But that wouldn't be noticeable enough!
